FORMAL LETTER: ORDER FROM A NEARBY STORE

Aug 30, 2019 / General / 3:13 am

You should spend around 20 minutes on this task.
You live near a record shop that sells music, movies, and books.
Write a letter to the shop asking if they have a few different items that you are looking for.
– Ask what the prices are and if they can be orders
– Ask when they would arrive and if you can have them held in advance.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,

Write at least 150 words.

MODEL ANSWER:
Dear Madam,

I am a student living near your store. I am writing you this letter to inquire about some items which I need personally.

I am interested in purchasing some old music albums and movies and if I can order them from it would be better as I prefer supporting local businesses. The first is a music album entitled “The Silence of the Night,” by the artist, Carlson. The second item is a movie called, “The Story of the Dark,” directed by Will smith. I would also like to ask you for the availability of ‘The Trojan’ one of the greatest epics in the world. It would be greatly appreciated if you could order these for me, if not available at your store. It would also appreciable if you could intimate me the estimate and delivery of these three items. You can reach me by either on phone or by email at your convenience.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
Dennis
