FORMAL LETTER: WASTE MANAGEMENT

Jun 29, 2019 / General / 1:00 am

You should spend around 20 minutes on this task.
You are annoyed by the waste management system in your locality. Write a letter to the local authority stating the problem. In your letter, you should say:
• Who you are?
• What the problem is?
• What would you like them to do to solve the issue?
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Write at least 150 words.

MODEL ANSWER:

I am a local resident towards the North of Muller Street, and I am writing this letter to express by deep concern about the improper garbage disposal in my street.

I have been living here for the past 15 years and this is the only year in which I found there are some serious issues with the urban waste management team. The local residents usually dump their waste in the respective bins which are placed at the West end of the street. The first problem is that the bins are inadequate in number so that the extra wastes are seen outside the bins surrounded by street dogs. This has made people littering in nearby places, which the waste collection unit is not concerned of.

I would like you to install enough garbage disposal bins in the area to accommodate all the wastes. Another concern is the safety of the people and hence it would be also appreciated if proper measures are taken to solve the street dog issue.

I would be very grateful if you would attend the matter as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,
