IELTS Writing Test – General Training
Writing task 1 (a letter)
You have seen an advertisement for a temporary job that involves looking after a house while the owner is travelling abroad. Write a letter to the homeowner. In your letter:
– explain why you are interested in the position
– describe any relevant experience you have
– say when you would be available to take on this role.
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people believe that governments should impose higher taxes on unhealthy food to encourage people to eat more healthily.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
