Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– Where do you live?
– How long have you lived there?
– Do you spend more time at home on weekdays or on weekends?
– What do you usually do at home during that time?
– Do you often forget things?
– What kinds of things do you usually forget?
– Do you use to-do lists to help you stay organised?
– Do you prefer writing to-do lists on paper or using your phone?
– Would you like to get a new phone in the near future?
– What features do you look for when choosing a new phone?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe an older person you know. You should say:

– who the person is
– how you know them
– what they are like

and explain why this person is important to you.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– In what ways can older people influence younger generations?
– What positive contributions do older people make to society?
– What factors affect the attitudes and behaviour of older people?
– How has the role of older people changed in modern society?
– Do you think younger people listen to advice from older people? Why or why not?
– How can communities better support their elderly population?
