It is argued that traditional cultures can hardly be prevented from getting diluted with the advancement of technology. I too think this is true to a greater extent as both cannot be balanced in the present scenario.

The first reason why I feel so is because of the fact that both these are extremes. To be precise, when traditional cultures stick on to outdated rituals and customs, which are not so relevant in the contemporary culture, technology makes man more civilized and enhances his standard of life to the next level. As today’s generation is more adjusted to the sophisticated technology, naturally they go far from the reach of traditional cultures.

The second reason why I align to the statement is because of the change in the attitude of the present generation. The thoughts and interests of today’s generation are almost entirely different from those who lived in the past, who valued their culture more than their life. In fact, modern man has become more self-centered and selfish, which made him more depended on technological advancements, which give him comfort and pleasure rather than valuing social norms.

I admit that some countries are somehow successful in bridging these together. However, I feel that when this happens, either of the two ends has to get slightly diluted, or this usually happens in case of traditional values.

To conclude, even though there are attempts made to balance traditional values and technological advancements, I think in the current situation, it is less practical.
