MODEL ANSWER:

The extent of transformation that took place at Laguna beach, which was evaluated in two distinct years after 1950 is exhibited in the given diagram.

As seen in the chart, in 1950, the only man made structures in the beach were some beach huts and a small track towards its North-east. However, in 1970, these huts were replaced by villas, which could accommodate more tourists and the track was developed into a road. The woodland located towards the south of the track was cleared to develop a caravan park, which further transformed to a car park in another 20 years. A large hotel replaced the villas by this time with an adjacent swimming pool on its right and landscaped gardens on its left. The introduction of a surf school is also seen in 1990.

Overall, noticeable changes occurred in Laguna beach, especially towards the later part of the period, which made it more tourist friendly.
