MODEL ANSWER:

A controversy exists whether governments should allocate its available financial resources to its optimum either on computer technology or on meeting basic needs. Both arguments have their own significance, and hence a critical analysis is needed on this topic.

On the one hand, a certain section of society feels developing or buying computer technology is of utmost importance, because they feel today’s people’s life is more closely related to this than ever before. The tremendous change which occurred after the introduction of computer technology ascertain their view. Today, it has become an inevitable part in almost every human’s life and in future, this would become one of the basic human requirements. Therefore they think as a responsible authority, it is the duty of governments to spend as much money as possible on this sector.

On the other hand, others think fulfilling the basic needs of man is of prime importance, because they think the very existence of human beings can be possible only when his basic needs are met properly. They add any sorts of development can be made the most effective when the basic requirements of humans are satisfactory. For example, the overall development of many countries is stagnated or slowed down when this is not met properly. Therefore they think it is cardinal to address this issue at the earliest with all the available financial resources.

After analyzing both these views in detail, l think once any government is self-sufficient in meeting its citizens’ basic needs, then it can expend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology.
