Music, drama, creative writing and similar art subjects are seen by some as an integral part of the academic curriculum. Despite, an exception, I can nearly agree to their argument that it should be integrated in the syllabus of all schools.

The first reason behind my agreement is because these subjects are often considered as intellectual boosters. To be clear, art lessons such as creative writing would enlighten the creative thoughts in a child. Similarly, dramas might enhance their imagination and music would help in correcting their errors spontaneously.

The second reason why I recommend their inclusion in the school curriculum is because of its stress-bursting capacity. Children often desire for a relaxed mind in between their hectic academic schedules. When they are engaged in art lessons in between their core subjects, they can not only kill their boredom, but also nurture their hidden talents. Finally, these lessons are often considered as the preliminary steps in molding a talented artist. For example, many eminent artists had attested that the art lessons at schools helped them a great way ahead.

The main criticism regarding this is the argument that children might get deviated from their studies, and may become poor performers. However, I believe it occurs in rare cases when there are no close supervision from both teachers and parents.

To conclude, though there is an objection regarding the academic performance of students, I think the inclusion of these subjects in the syllabus of every school is to be promoted well.
