MODEL ANSWER>>>

Different stages in the life-cycle of a frog are sequenced in the given diagram.

In the first stage, the eggs are laid in the stagnated water bodies by adult frogs. After a specific duration, these hatch and tadpoles emerge out.

The preliminary development of the tadpole has three stages. In the first stage, its head is bigger than its body and in second stage, the head and the body circumferences become equal. In the last stage, the body circumference becomes larger.

The next crucial stage of its development involves the emergence of anterior legs and elongation of body. In the subsequent stage, the hind legs emerge and it starts pulmonary breathing. It still has a long tail and these two features enable it to adopt with both aquatic and land life easily.

In the penultimate stage of the cycle, it increases its body mass and shortens its tail length. Eventually, it becomes an adult frog, which is capable of reproduction, and the cycle continues.
