The changes in the employment patterns in the USA from 1930 to 2010 are depicted in the given line graph.

Overall, it is clear that when the rate of work force from the sector of farming, fishing and foresting is seen declining, other sectors generally saw a growth in this force.

As per the graph, farming, fishing and foresting was the most employed sector in 1930, when it provided nearly 80% of the employment in the USA. In 40 years, it declined to 60% and by 2010, it saw the least proportion of labourers (nearly 1-2%).

From 1930 to 1980, the proportion of labour force in sectors other than the aforementioned was not that much significant. The rate had not crossed 10 till this period. However, after this point, except in case of other services, all sectors had a growth in their work force. This is seen the highest in case of industrial sector. The second most growth is seen in the technical sector, followed by sales and office sector. When the first two had an average employee rate between 30 and 35, the last category settled at around 20 in 2010.
