Despite the damages it causes to the environment, the car manufacturing and marketing industry are gaining their popularity in a steady manner. There are personal and financial aspects behind this trend, and slowing down this process is not as easy as it appears.

Looking into the personal reasons behind this habit, the first is the comfort and convenience a customer is guaranteed by a car manufacturer. For example, a car acts as a second home for a small family, in which they can travel together with their own privacy and comfort. Most car manufacturers ensure the best features to ensure the maximum comfort and safety, and this might be the main reason why people prefer cars to public transport, in spite of environmental concerns like pollution.

Turning to the financial aspect, most car manufacturers see the industry as one of the low-risk businesses. Though the process needs a huge investment, sale is guaranteed if the manufacturer is updated with the latest trends. Once a brand is established, the customer is ready to spend an exorbitant sum on the purchase, as they perceive the buy as a status symbol. Many customers are proud to own a Rolls-Royce and this should be seen as a pertinent example for the financial reason behind the trend. Here, environmental concerns are neglected both by the manufacturer and the customer.

Measures to control the manufacturing and use of cars were adopted by many governments, such as increasing the tax and hiking the fuel prices, however, the results were disappointing. The future also seems bright for the car manufacturers and users.

To conclude, the underlying reasons behind the car manufacturing and use are basically personal and financial, and it does not seem to slow down in near future.
