At a glance, it is clear that the most common purpose of surfing the net is to get access to e-mail, irrespective of the age (90-95%). It is also seen that online purchase, the next popular search is attributed mainly to the age group between 20 and 60. When around 66% of them purchase online, the extreme age groups prefer it less (nearly 40%). Music/video downloads and online games are the favorite activities for the teens after accessing mails online (52-80%). The habit of browsing for the same activities is seen declining as age advances, with an exception in case of the latter (A slight increase is seen after the age of 50). Very few teens (3%) search new people online and not any do travel reservations, whereas the age group over 70 has almost the opposite habit. However, the age group which prefers to make most travel reservations online is in their 30s (74%).

Overall, it is clear that the internet activities by the middle aged groups (20-50) are more evenly distributed than the extreme age groups.
