A clear cut comparison on the expenditure pattern of four major automobile companies on various media of advertising in the UK in 2002 is portrayed in the given table.

Overall, it is clear that Renault spent the most on advertising and TV was the most favorite medium for all the companies.

As shown in the table, when Renault spent 132 million dollars in total on adverts, which was the highest advertising tariff, others spent only $100 million. It spent the most on TV adverts with $59, which was $14 million more than what it spent on the press.

However, the top spending on TV adverts was done by Cetirizine, which was as high as $70 million. This was $5 million more than Vauxhall’s and $25 million more than Rover’s.

Rover stood next to Renault in case of spending on press adverts. This accounted for $38 million, which was more than three-fold of Cetirizine’s and just under five-fold of Vauxhall’s expenditure.

When Rover and Cetirizine had least interest in disbursing money on cinema and outdoor adverts, the other two spent an average of $6 million on those. The advertising expense on radio was uniform for all companies ($15 million).
