Music is considered as a vital part of all human cultures and a rich variety of musical styles can be found across the world. For a wide range of reasons, this is essential, and traditional music appears to be more important than international music.

Firstly, music is something that accompanies nearly all of us throughout our lives. As a means of learning language, or simply as a form of enjoyment, children are taught songs by their parents and teachers. Later in life, people’s musical preferences develop, and they see their favorite songs as part of their lives. For some, it is a profession. Secondly, most people perceive music as a form of entertainment or as way to relieve their stress, and this is true in almost all age groups. Lastly, it expresses and arouses emotions which are not possible only with words. In short, it is difficult to imagine a life without it.

Turning to the significance of the types of music, international music is often interesting and entertaining. The added technological excellence in this type of music makes it more popular even in the remote parts of the world. However, it should be better perceived as a commercial product that is being marketed and sold by the profit-oriented elements. Traditional music, by contrast, expresses the culture, customs and the rich heritage of a country. Music forms such as folk songs connect people to the past and reflect their respective cultural identities. Nevertheless, it is overshadowed by the influence of international music, and so the respective governments should look into the matter with grave concern.

In conclusion, music plays an inseparable role among humans, and I believe that traditional music should be given more importance than international music because of its vulnerability of extinction.
