An increasing number of people are seen living independently these days. There are several reasons behind this trend and in my opinion; it has more benefits than disadvantages.

The first reason I think why people assert an independent living is that the urge for freedom: both
economically and emotionally. To be clear, today, in this technologically advanced world, most people want to explore its opportunities, and for this they need financial independence. Similarly, to enjoy the life to its full extent, one thinks that he/she should
have enough emotional freedom. Another reason is the social dignity, which many think is better possible when they are independent.

Turning to the possible effects of such a life, I feel the aforementioned factors are true to a great extent. This is because I feel that these people, when they are free,
they feel confident mostly in their day to day activities and at the same time, they can motivate others to be self-reliant and productive. In addition, such a life easesthe pressure on others, especially the family members or the state in some cases. In such a way, this can benefit them too.

I need to admit that there are some risks related to this type of life. The worst among those is the risk of
being alone in an emergency situation. Yet, I believe the benefits of living independent outweigh these issues.
