You and your family have just come back from a holiday staying in a rented apartment overlooking the sea. The apartment was very unsatisfactory.
Write a letter of complaint to the manager of the agency from which you rented the apartment. In your letter,
➢ give details of the things that were unsatisfactory
➢ explain the reactions of the members of your family
➢ ask the manager what he / she is going to do about the situation
I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction regarding the stay at the apartment you arranged for our family’s stay for the last holiday.
It was from 21 December to 1 January we stayed at ‘IX RE5’, an apartment in ‘The Beach Orchid’, which overlooks the sea. The booking was made well ahead, and you assured a pleasant stay at Christmas. However, the whole stay was not pleasing as there was a lot of noise around, even at late night. Another problem was the house keeping service. We were not provided with the service except on the day which we arrived.
My children could not sleep properly at night, and they were too disturbed during the day. It really spoiled their holiday mood. My wife got exhausted in cleaning the apartment and washing the clothes. On a whole, we lost some quality time, which we would have enjoyed better if we stayed in an alternate accommodation.
I would like to enquire about any possible reduction in the rent, as none of us were satisfied with your service. It would be grateful if you could refund at least 20% of the amount which we paid in advance.
