The current world has been witnessing tremendous changes in the digital communication technology, no matter whether it is e-mail, instant messaging or social media. It is opined that this transformation has taken the interpersonal communications and relationships to the next level, and I have to attest it without any further analysis.
One of the most tangible developments in the aforementioned field is the introduction of electronic mail. In the past, people had to depend on postal or courier services to exchange messages or to send wishes. However, as e-mail got popular, people could send any message either official or unofficial with, or without attachments even to the farthest end of the world within a fraction of second in a most secure way.
Another notable development which enhanced the connections between people is the instant messaging services such as SMS and MMS. To explain it further, today, individuals who wish to pass an urgent message do not necessarily need to check his availability to attend a phone call. The message will be sent instantly to the phone inbox, which the receiver can check whenever he is available.
Last but not least is the most popular of all these digital communication technology: the social media. These platforms allow people to broaden their connections by allowing mass communication. For instance, when people share their posts, pictures or reels online on social media platforms such as instagram, Facebook or twitter, it would reach a larger number of audiences. It is also often used as a new method of advertising and promotions.
To conclude, one can undoubtedly say the advancements in digital communication technology including emails, instant messaging and social media have brought people across different cultures and geographical locations closer than ever before.
