Few artists ever manage to achieve fame, let alone a livable wage. Often artists struggle to make ends meet for most of their lives. For this reason, some believe that it is irresponsible for a parent to encourage his/her child to pursue an artistic career. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Why? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

MODEL ANSWER:
It is a fact that the modern world is projecting only a few artists with fame, money and power, and this makes people think that it is irresponsible for them to persuade their children to pursue a career in art. I tend not to agree with the statement and the reasons are enlisted below.
The cardinal reason why parents become anxious to make their children embrace an artistic career is that the unstable financial guarantee it offers. However, the reality is that modern technology has opened the doors of opportunity wider in front of enthusiastic children who love art. In addition, one should not forget that art offers something that other careers cannot. The impression an artist has in the minds of a common man is deeper than the status of an economically established man.
Apart from this, if a child is keen on artistic career, they should never be discouraged. Many children show their interest towards paintings, sculptures, ceramics et cetera, and this interest is very vital in the modern money rolling professions such as computer graphics, animations, architecture and even in fashion designing. Therefore, there are ample opportunities for children who nurture an artistic mind, which can make them successful in their future. Parents should therefore, be always with their children offering advice and guidance about the situations
In conclusion, I believe parents should never stamp on the enthusiasm of their child towards art and creativity.
