It is a fact that some countries are focusing on the physical well-being and in those countries, it can be seen that people, irrespective of their age participate in sports and exercise. Undoubtedly, this seems to benefit them in a greater way.
The most obvious merit of this trend is that it can prevent a lot of lifestyle diseases, which would haunt the people otherwise. To be precise, the lifestyle of the people has changed when compared to the past, and many are now seen adopting a sedentary life, knowingly or unknowingly. This is a dangerous situation, and it is the joint responsibility of the state and its citizens to tackle this issue. The best possible way of addressing this is to encourage the population to be physically active, whatever their age are.
Two other significant benefits are the enhancement of physical endurance and the extension of the life expectancy. To be clearer, a lot of people are in a state of melancholy just because they are not physically active. This is because of the inseparable relation between the mind and the body. In short, a person can get a higher level of contentment only when he is physically active. Moreover, sports and exercises increase the life expectancy of a person. In Japan, where most people work even after their retirement, the life expectancy is the highest in both genders.
I have to admit that there are some risks involved when aged or extremely morbid people exercise. However, if sports and exercises are practised from the early ages, these risks can be minimised.
To conclude, despite some negligible risks, especially to the geriatric, it is completely justifiable to promote the physical well-being by means of sports and exercises.
