The line graph below shows the consumption of 3 types of spreads in a place between 1981 and 2007. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The pattern of consumption of spreads in grams between 1981 and 2007 in a particular place is portrayed in the given line graph.

As shown in the chart, the most popular spread which was consumed in 1981 was butter at around 140 grams, which was far higher than margarine, the second most favorite at that time. The initial disparity of 50 grams widened to 80 grams after 5 years and by 1991, the preference to both became equal(100 grams). The introduction of low fat and reduced spreads happened in 1996, when the margarine and butter consumption stood at 100 and 70 grams respectively. When there was a dramatic surge in the consumption of the newly introduced spread, the usage of the other two declined. However, the trend was declining for all by the end of the period (2007).

Overall, except in the case of low fat and reduced spreads, the consumption pattern of the other two spreads had a dwindling trend over the period.
