Lifestyle diseases are now common in many countries irrespective of age and gender. It is a fact that the modern medicine has failed in addressing these effectively, and at this point, some suggest a revival of traditional medicine. If there are some positive changes, I would definitely support this suggestion.

Unlike the past, today’s people are less agile and confined to their home or work places. This sedentary life style has brought about many lifestyle diseases like obesity and diabetes among them. Even though, they are spending a huge sum for the treatment of this for a very longer period, they are still not completely satisfied with the treatment. Therefore, they have started thinking of better alternatives.

After critically analysing the available options, some of them have found some hope in the traditional medicines like Ayurveda and naturopathy. These treatments are found less-expensive and have less possible complications compared to the modern medicines, which have potential side-effects. Another advantage of this treatment is that it can be universally applied, irrespective of race and ethnicity. The procedures are usually simple and can people can adjust with those easily.

However, the main problem with these sorts of treatments is that it consumes a considerable amount of time of the individual who involves in it. Usually, these treatments involve lifestyle modifications and naturally this would not go well with the modern lifestyle. Despite these difficulties, many testify that the effectiveness of such treatments are better than the modern alternatives.

To conclude, even though there are some difficulties in practising the traditional medicines in the modern living circumstances, if there is a ray of hope of success, these practices are to be brought back and popularized.
