With the advanced technology, many modern women have the privilege to meet both their professional and familial needs which include care of their children. This pattern of life has many potential benefits. However, the question whether the demerits of this outweigh the merits is definitely difficult to answer.

The fundamental merit when women work along with meeting their responsibilities towards their dependent children is that it gives them the opportunity to support their family financially as a whole. They may be able to support their children by availing them with better resources like good clothes and study materials. At the same time, they can contribute to their family budget substantially, and might afford amenities like a car or a new house. The second visible advantage is the hike in the family status. In case of families where both parents work, it is seen that the social dignity is seen higher.

On the flip side, the worst challenge a working woman is expected to face is maintaining an ideal balance between their personal and professional commitments. For example, most women work in a toxic environment, where the stress and strain are seen in higher levels. When this happens, they would find it very difficult to spend quality time with their family. The next challenge is seen in the child-rearing area. Many children in families where their mothers work face inadequate attention, and this may adversely affect them both physically and mentally.
