There arise many successful people in different fields of life, who can make a notable impression in the minds of many. Believe it or not, a sizeable proportion of such people have had bitter academic performances at schools. The main reason for this, along with a critical enquiry on the most important factor behind a successful life is elucidated in the upcoming paragraphs.

When analysed thoroughly, the primary reason behind this type of success is because of the fact that individuals are availed with a wider range of options outside the school. To be precise, at schools, the curriculum is framed systematically to satisfy the students in a general perspective. The limitation here is that it does not best suit students with exceptional qualities or skills. For example, if a student is good at Biology, and not at other subjects, his overall performance at school would be below par. Another point is that, he has fewer options outside the syllabus to explore his knowledge and talents in that particular subject.

Turning to the factors which contribute success, the popular opinions include hard work, perseverance, patience, wealth, power and luck. However, I feel an intense desire plays a superior role over all these range of options. This is because except luck, hardly any of these factors can function independently to embrace success. Luck, on the other hand, would rarely stand with a person.

To conclude, the key reason behind the success stories of people who were poor school performers is because of specific limitations in the school curriculum, and in case of the most significant factor behind success, desire is the forerunner.
