Attitudes differ in answering the question whether to work for the same organisation all through an employee’s life or to change his employer often. Arguments related to this are of utmost importance, and hence a rational discussion is needed before stating any opinion.

On the one hand, the pivotal advantage which the former group highlights if a person sticks to a particular organization is better adaptability. To be precise, when a person works in the same organisation, he gets familiarized with its working environment, whereas in a different situation, it is often disturbed. Another advantage they focus is the increase in the productivity as an employee can fetch the maximum out of him with a comfortable and longer stay in an organization. Finally, permanent workers are offered with extra benefits, and this persuades many employees to stay in the organisation until their retirement.

On the other hand, those who have the other view think that it is the best way to escape a monotonous work atmosphere. They believe moving to a different organisation makes many employees curious and energetic and they definitely can enjoy a different work atmosphere. An added benefit they point at is the procurement of new skills and experience, which is beneficial for both the employer and the employees. To be clearer, when an employee moves to another firm, he would be exposed to a different work environment, and hence he has to learn new strategies to get acclimatized with the situation. Working in diverse situations can also make him well-equipped to face more challenging situations, which eventually makes him more competent at work.

After analyzing both these views in detail, though there are visible advantages for not changing the organisation all through career, I think it is better to have work experience in at least two organisations to make the best out of an employee.
