There have been many suggestions put forward regarding how to commute in city roads. At the one end, it is argued that cars are good, whereas others feel that bicycles are better. Both these suggestions have their own gravity, and hence a detailed discussion is needed before reaching a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, those who have the former view can hardly think of a city road without car. This is because of the concentration of commercial establishments like large shopping malls and cinemas in the cities. It is necessary for people to move in and out of these establishments with comfort and convenience. For example, if a family needs to go shopping in the city, the ideal vehicle is a car as it can occupy all of them and products they shop. This type of convenience is rarely found with any other form of transportation.
On the other hand, the latter group recommends the use of bicycles in cities as they find traffic as a major issue in city roads. To be precise, many city roads are experiencing bottleneck congestion, especially at peak hours. This hardly allows people to move freely through these roads. The next issue is the fuel consumption. Vehicles consume more fuel in city roads, where the traffic is extremely slow. The best solution this group highlights is the use of bicycle, which can be faster in the city roads. They also focus on the fact that bicycles are eco-friendly.
After analyzing both suggestions critically, it is clear that the use of both cars and bicycles is needed in city roads. However, this use is to be regulated by the respective authorities as per the traffic conditions.
