Some people think high-end technology can prevent and cut down the rate of committing crime. Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

It is often argued that sophisticated technologies can arrest and bring down the rate of crime. I do feel this is true to a greater extent, despite some issues stemming from the same field.
The cardinal reason behind my agreement is because of the fact that most criminals would hesitate to do a crime in public. If high risk areas are monitored continuously with gadgets like surveillance cameras, untoward incidences like robbery and murder would dwindle. Similarly, latest technologies which integrate audio, face and finger print recognition hardly allow anyone to intrude in to a person’s private property. This ensures a higher degree of safety to its users, and ultimately the popularity of such devices grows.
Another vulnerable area which the latest technology secures is the personal data, which include confidential passwords. It is often seen that hackers access these data if it is not secured properly with the help of high-end technologies. The result would be catastrophic. With the advent of newer security features, there has been a considerable decline in the number of these incidences.
I should admit that despite the introduction of these advanced features, still crime occurs, both in physical and virtual aspects. The interesting factor is that the culprits make use of technology itself to beat these systems. However, these people are easily nabbed by the police. Thanks to the advanced technology again.
To conclude, though there are some loop holes in the security the modern technology offers, it ensures safety in most cases, if properly used.
