The plans portray the present layout of the Southwest Airport and the way it would look next year, after redevelopment.

Overall, it is obvious that the airport is expected to transform dramatically in just a year, with more facilities for operation.

At present, there are eight gates for entry and exit. At the departure terminal, the check-in counter is located at the left-hand side of the entrance, and a café is there opposite to it. After clearance at  passport control unit and a security check, passengers can embark flights.  Those who disembark can walk through the gates to the passport control and clear customs check to exit the airport.

After redevelopment, there would be 10 more gates. The check-in counter would be relocated to the right, and the café is set to be moved to the immediate left to the entrance of the departure terminal. The baggage drop is planned at the place where the check-in counter exists now. The two new developments planned inside the airport are the introduction of shops at and sky train service. Additional gates at arrival and departure, an ATM, a café and a car hire at arrival terminal are the other expected changes.
