Information on how the number of overseas students to Canada varied from the USA in 2003 when compared to 2002 is depicted in the given table.
Overall, it is clear that America accepted more students than Canada in both the years.
As per the table, most number of foreign students to Canada were from China at 5400 in 2002, which was 400 more than the number of students from the USA. These numbers grew by 45% and 9% respectively in 2003. Out of its 59,870 overseas students in 2002, India’s contribution was just 2,100. This number too showed a growth, and that was by 735.
Unlike Canada, the USA accepted more students from India in both years. In 2002, the number of Indian students in America was 0.2 million, which was 90,000 more than that of the Chinese students. However, when the number of Chinese students climbed to 116,600 in 2003, there was a 9% decline in the number of Indian students. The number of Canadian students, which was recorded at 31,000 in 2002 climbed by 7% in 2003, making the aggregate number of overseas students hit 592,230 from 581,600 in 2002.
