MODEL ANSWER:

In the modern society, experts in science and technology are assumed to receive more dignity than artists and musicians. It is hard for me to agree to this statement at present because of two specific reasons.

The first reason for my disagreement is that artists and musicians are vital members of the entertainment sector, which attracts a huge number of people. Many established artists like film actors and pop singers are much popular than eminent personalities from the field of science and technology. They receive more and more media attention, and they enjoy their stardom to the maximum. This celebrity status makes them extraordinary personalities. The second reason why I think these people receive much value is that people acknowledge their creativity more than scientists and technical experts. In other words, celebrities like musicians and artists are greatly successful in making their contributions reach a very wide radius of population, whereas people are more aware of the inventions than the inventors these days. For example, not many are aware of the people behind robotic surgery, but are aware of the benefits of such an innovation. At the same time, a wider range of the global population are aware of the people behind ‘Harry Potter’.

However, I admit the fact that not all artists and musicians are valued in the society than eminent scientists. A considerable proportion of such people struggle to meet the both ends of their life, but this does not hinder people from opting these professions. It should be also noted that scientists and other related professionals hold a respectful position in the society.

To conclude, though scientific and technological experts receive the value they deserve in the society, established musicians and artists have a dominance over them in case of societal dignity.
