Many schools are seen facing challenges to tackle bullying among their students. The major factor which attributes to this is a favourable situation, and the problem cannot be addressed as easily as one thinks.

The only tangible factor behind this unaccepted behaviour is the favourable circumstances. There may be students who are extremely obese or lean in a school. There may be underperformers and students with physical deformities. When these students are minorities at schools, the majority is more likely to start bullying at them. However, unless and until they get support from the rest of the group, bullying would subside naturally.

Apart from this, when school management, class heads and teachers are lax observers, a favourable atmosphere for bullying is created. To be clearer, when students are left unsupervised for a longer time at school or they are not engaged in activities, many such incidents are reported. Those who bully others take this as a golden opportunity and would make other students feel that bullying is an entertaining activity.

It has to be understood that the solution for this issue is farther than what is expected. This is because the psychological status of each student is difficult to be assessed. On top of that, school children are at the stage of faster development, and even if they are monitored closely, certain behavioural issues remain invisible. However, a better suggestion is increasing the number of school health nurses and the inclusion of behavioural therapists at schools.

To conclude, it is clear that a favourable atmosphere for bullying at schools is the root cause of this issue. Even though there are no immediate solutions for this, it can be mitigated by enhancing the monitoring and taking timely actions.
