Amidst of the presence of numerous gyms, there exists a sizeable proportion of people who lead a sedentary lifestyle. The issues which are associated with this appear to be moderate to severe, and I think these cannot be easily addressed.
The aforementioned situation seems to be alarming as there are a number of undesirable consequences which are to be expected. The first among those is an ever-increasing proportion of morbid population. To be precise, if vulnerable people to lifestyle diseases would have attended gym activities, there would have fewer incidences of such ailments. Instead, one could see mostly body-builders in such places.
The second problem which is related to this situation is the growing popularity of sedentary culture. When the majority in a society do not make use of these advanced centers to keep themselves healthy, there arises a common thought that the primary beneficiaries of these places are some other groups. Eventually, this increases the presence of a less-productive and an idle population in the society.
Looking into the solution, the only way is to encourage these people to do exercise. When these many gyms are available in every city, the best way is to solve the issues (privacy, comfortable schedule and an expert medical supervision) behind the hesitation of their access by this population. Rewarding the regular participants can also be a good idea. However, I feel this is not easily made practical.
To conclude, abstaining from physical activities even with the availability of fitness centers can fetch worse effects on health, especially among those who lead a sedentary life. Even though solutions are there, its swift practicality is a question.
