FORMAL LETTER: COMPLAINT LETTER

You recently stayed at a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the
time of the year and the heating/cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter, give details of what was wrong, explain
what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time and say what action you would
like the manager to take.
Write at least 150 words.

MODEL ANSWER:

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction towards the cooling system in your hotel, where I had a day stay.

Last Sunday, I stayed at your hotel: ‘ Pine Valley’ at the city center. The temperature on that day went up to 40 degree Celsius, which was the maximum of the month. The room that was allotted to me had a very bad cooling system. It was inadequate and had defect in its swing mode as well. I rang up to reception area for the repair and it was done in an hour. After an hour, I met the same problem, which was fixed again soon. The problem repeated thrice in the evening and got settled at night.

I would suggest you to have an overall repair and maintenance of all the electric gadgets so that you can ensure your guests a very comfortable stay.
