To what extent a child is to be disciplined is a significant matter when it comes to the process of childrearing. In different nations this vary, and I feel disciplining is essential to an extent for the betterment of a child, but it should not exceed the limits.

The prime reason why I think it is vital is because disciplining children can imbibe good moral values of life among them at an early stage which would further help to shape their future in a well-mannered way. To be precise, many anti-social activities today stem from the lack of moral education and lax disciplining at an early stage of a person’s life. It is therefore understood that disciplining can bring down such undesirable incidents to a certain extent.

In addition, this tender age is the best time when children can be effectively taught about the rules of behavior as they are the ones who are going to lead the society in future. Finally, childhood disciplining is an excellent way to keep children’s focus on their targets and even make their vision clear towards their life.

However, there are critics who believe that imposing this at an early age of life might make children struggle both psychologically and emotionally. They point at many visible instances in which over-disciplined children became under-performers. There is of course some truth in this.

To conclude, even though discipline to an extent is necessary, I tend to say enforcing too many rules would prove detrimental in a child’s life.
