You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

In the modern world, the image (photograph or film) is becoming a more powerful way of communicating than the written word. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

The modes of communication and their effectiveness are undergoing constant changes. It is often argued that photographs or films are turning to be stronger tools of communication than the written words. There is no reason I should oppose the view in the present scenario.

The pivotal reason behind my agreement is because of the fact that pictures, whether it is still or moving, have better attractiveness than different stylish fonts. To be precise, most people find some time to look even a glance at a picture, whereas a very few are interested in reading between the lines from lengthy passages. This attitude of the common man is been exploited by many types of media, and this makes conveying messages via pictures more popular.

In other words, the performance of pictures in the field of communication is much superior to written words. It can be seen attractive images are added to most adverts such as in case of detergents and soaps. Very few waste time reading the full content of such adverts, but many of such commercials fetch unimaginable results. On the other hand, when images are excluded, their success rate would decline.

A much significant reason why I agree to the statement is because of the convenience in its use. To be clearer, many messages and comments can be substituted with images and smileys, and in most modern communication devices, these facilities are seen installed. This not only facilitates the sender, but also the receiver.

To sum up, there is no shadow of doubt to ascertain that power of images (still or motion) is gaining more relevance in the field of communication, which was once dominated by written words.
