It is an undeniable fact that machine-made products dominate hand- made products almost in every field, and in some areas of production, it has completely replaced the other. If assessed critically, it can be seen that this has improved the standard of living, yet some criticisms persist.
Customer accessibility is the highlight of most technology-assisted production. Unlike the past, the population is swelling in an unimaginable manner, and the global demand of popular consumer goods is soaring. To meet this hike in the demand, manufacturers across the world have switched to machine-assisted production. As a result, a wide variety of products are now available in the market, serving the same purposes with different specifications, and this has made the purchasing experience really interesting.
Customer satisfaction is the next major feature of machine-made products. To be precise, these products are seen transforming and adjusting to the changing trends of the market. Frequent alterations made by the smartphone manufacturers are pertinent examples of this. In case of hand-made products, flexible production in relation to the customers’ demand rarely occurs. Another advantage which I can point out is the quality of the product. Stringent quality assessments are made prior to the distribution process in case of machine-made products. They also avail the token of assurance: ‘the warranty’, which makes it even more popular.
Criticisms arise from some corners questioning this monopoly of machine-made products. Critics believe that hand-made products reflect the cultural identity, and at no point their existence should be questioned. Instead governments and societies should encourage their production and sales.
To conclude, it is almost clear that the substitution of hand-made products with products of technological excellence would benefit humans more, and of course it is the need of the hour.
