These days, people are seen more engaged at work than in the past, sparing much less time for leisure activities. Though it appears to be disadvantageous for many, I feel it is more productive in nature.

To begin, human needs and desires are soaring and so do their necessity of money. Most people face this challenging situation by working overtime, leaving behind entertainment factors, which can relax their mind and body. Therefore, they got accepted with the norm: ‘more work means more money’. Many such people foresee a much better recreation or holidays at the end of the year. The next major areas of advantage men at work highlight are the provision of career expansion and promotions at work. For example, employees, mainly youngsters perceive the fact that hard work is the cornerstone for them to build their career. Finally, financial security is to be met by most people who work, as they might face any unforeseen emergencies at any time during their life. They also realize that they should have enough savings to meet their financial needs in the rest of their life. Hence, many people feel that there is nothing wrong in sacrificing their leisure for doing work.

Nevertheless, this situation is seen alarming for some. I too think there is some truth in that. When the leisure time is set to the minimum, many employees might feel severely exhausted, both mentally and physically. This would adversely affect the health and productivity of a person, which would become detrimental for both the person as well as his career prospects. However, I feel many employees have learned how to tackle these problems effectively.

In conclusion, admitting the fact that leisure at work is necessary for an employee, I feel this situation is advantageous unless and until a person finds no time for leisure.
