Unlike the past, there exist an increasing number of people who are obsessed with fashionable clothes and gadgets. There are two main factors behind this trend, and this appears to be mostly negative.
The first reason behind this type of addiction is because of the shift in the life-style of the people. To explain it further, modern generation is exposed to a range of products, and the marketing companies make sure that the product information reaches a wider range of population. With the use of celebrities as the brand ambassadors, and the maximum use of the social media, companies have transformed the life-style of people. Eventually, today’s generation has passively absorbed fashionable and trendy products which are exposed to them by marketing giants.
The second contributing factor is the desire of modern man to project him exceptional. At the same time, designers of such products have indirectly programmed the modern man with a feeling of incompleteness if he does not use their products. Hence, even though such products are expensive, today’s generation have no hesitation to purchase those.
When analyzing whether the trend is positive or negative, though fashionable clothes and gadgets represent the updated culture, civilization and an improved standard of living, addiction to such products tends to waste a country’s valuable resources, which would have been used in a wiser way. It would also drain a considerable portion of personal earnings, and might make people spendthrifts.
