Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because of technology. In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make? Has this become a positive or negative development?

It is a fact that technology has made tremendous changes in many aspects of human life and when it comes to communication, it is exceptional. However, one can see this change has not gifted man benefits alone in case of making and maintaining relationships.

 With regards to positive developments, the most prominent benefit is that communication has become easier and comfortable. In the past, people had to struggle to reach even the people at the further end of their social circle, and many social interactions were not made often just because of inconveniences. With the advancements in the information technology, man is now able to communicate with people from different parts of the world simultaneously at the same time placing himself in his comfortable place (at home or office). The increasing access of social media sites like twitter and Instagram irrespective of culture and geographical boundaries is a pertinent example of the popularity of this technology and not many can say that it has reduced the social interactions of modern man.

Despite numerous advantages, one can see that this development has affected the real life relationships adversely. To be precise, people are now not generally concentrating in-person communications because of various reasons. When this occurs, emotional relationships between people would become weak and fragile. For example, in many families, members find very limited time in communicating each other when compared to the time they spend with social media networks. This might result in break in the familial relationships and eventually would end up in separation.

To sum up, despite having some serious drawbacks, very few can afford to turn their face from modern communication technology, which facilitates our lives in an exceptional way.
