Discipline at an early stage it a common question of relevance for those who are concerned with child rearing and child education .Controversy exists whether it should be done at an early stage or not. Both these opposing arguments have their own gravity, and hence a thorough discussion is mandatory before reaching a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, people who oppose an early discipline think that this can harm the development of a child, especially the emotional aspect .To be precise, there are circumstances when children are neglected or even abused as a part of the disciplinary process and eventually children become emotionally imbalanced .such children may have poor emotional perception which is exhibited through emotional numbness. They add children at this stage are immature and this disciplinary process is very less effective for them instead they believe this can be done when they attain maturity.
On the other hand, people who support an early discipline think the tender age is the best age for a child to get himself shaped. They think so because this age plays a crucial role in the external character formation of a child .Moreover, the learning potential of a child at this age is at its zenith and this cements their view. They also think it is very difficult to inculcate a socially acceptable behavior through disciplinary process at a later part of child’s life.
After analyzing both these views in detail, even though there is some truth that maturity plays a role in the disciplinary process of a child , i think it is better to train a child at an early stage.
