It is a fact that most schools have limited budgets, but the areas of expenditure are numerous. There exists a debate whether this limited input of money should be spent on hiring good teachers or should be used to purchase equipment like computers. Both views are important, and hence a detailed discussion is needed before framing a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, the former group focuses on the efficiency of eminent teachers. They believe that such teachers are assets of a school, and they are really worthy for both the school and for the students. This is because they can perceive both the academic and extra-curricular potentials of a student and can nurture these abilities in the best possible way. For the school, these teachers are ‘instruments’ which bring fame and reputation. Therefore, they think spending money on hiring such mentors would not prove futile.
On the other hand, those who have the second view highlight the need of quality infrastructure, which is mainly focused on technology like computers. They think that schools which lack such facilities could hardly achieve progress in this era of fast-changing education sector. For example, computers, projectors, and similar technologically advanced features would enhance both the teaching and learning experience.
