There is a dispute in the area in which health budget should be spent. While some believe it should be on purchasing the ultra-modern medical equipment, others feel that it is better to hire qualified doctors and nurses. Though both has equal weightage, I do prefer to stand with the latter’s view.

On the one hand, when money is spent on sophisticated equipment, there is no doubt that it could benefit the diagnosis and treatment of a disease, the former group opines. To be precise, in the past, it was difficult to diagnose the types of cancer, the location of an artery block or the type of a viral disease. However, with the help of modern equipment, we can confirm the problem faster and start the treatment immediately, without wasting the time. Similarly, the use of equipment like syringe pumps and automated ventilators assist the medical professionals to give the most appropriate and timely treatment.

On the other hand, the opposite group perceives that service is better than purchasing modern equipment. To be clearer, they suggest that the expert service of a doctor or a nurse can solve many problems which the machines cannot do, both in the field of diagnosis and the treatment. Here, they place their experience and rational thoughts much superior to the service of a machine. For example, if a patient turns blue, a qualified doctor or a nurse can identify it is an emergency situation, and can adopt steps to save his life. Likewise, these professional know what are the appropriate first-line treatments conditions like burns and snake bites.

To conclude, though there are visible benefits when we spent on innovative medical equipment, I do not feel this alone can ensure a quality treatment. Indeed we need the service of expertise medical and nursing services.
