While some believe successful completion of university education assists a person to assume a good job, others think it not only benefits the person, but also the society as a whole. Both arguments are significant, and hence a detailed discussion is needed before framing a logical conclusion.

The prime reason behind the former group’s view is because of the general assumption that most employers prefer successful graduates. To be precise, these days a professional degree from a university is seen as a pre-requisite to apply for any decent job. This is because almost all universities have a set of educational standards, and they offer a wholesome training to their subjects. It is common to see that employers conducting job-placement interviews for final semester students at campuses. Therefore, it is clear that acquiring a university degree assists a person in his job-hunting process.

The second group focuses not only on the personal benefits of the graduates, but also on the positive contribution they can make in the economy. To explain it further, in addition to career prospects, a university graduate can enhance his knowledge and social status. On the other hand, an educated person can upgrade the standard of the society he lives in, by sharing his intellectual and financial resources. For example, a doctor can benefit his society by his service and by boosting its economy.

After analyzing both views in detail, I feel university education would equip a person both to find a good job and to gain other personal benefits. At the same time, a graduate is an asset to his society both in case of intellectual and financial services.
