It is a fact that an increasing number of people watch movies on their personal phones or tablets. While some say this has made cinemas insignificant, others feel the viewing experience would be incomplete if it is not in a cinema. Both arguments are topical, and hence a detailed discussion is needed before framing a logical conclusion.

On the one hand, it is convenient to watch movies and other entertainment programs at a comfortable zone when a person has a phone or tablet. This is the major advantage the former group highlights. To be precise, the viewer can select a convenient time and the most comfortable place as he has a portable device. He can even take breaks in between and resume the show later. The second benefit they focus is the variety of movies available online. Popular platforms like Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon avail their customers with premiers at a reasonable subscription rate.

On the other hand, the main reason why some people strongly recommend cinemas is because of the unique experience it can give to the viewers. This is because modern movies are made in such a way that they can exploit any of the most advanced technological audio-visual equipment to the maximum. They are also well-equipped with provisions of playing 3D motion pictures and animated movies which cannot be fully enjoyed in a portable screen.

Without any disturbance of overloaded adverts, a cinema hall offers its customers the most entertaining time, and this can be seen as another merit.

After analysing both views in detail, it is clear that both options have their own advantages, which people are likely to take differently in different situations based on their attitudes, interests and circumstances.
