It is seen that employers of many modern companies focusing on the dressing style of their employees instead of focusing their work-efficiency. While some argue the opposite, I tend to agree, as I believe appearance alone cannot make a significant difference.
When addressing the matter from the view of those employers who focus on the way their employees’ dress, the main reason for this initiative is based on the impression or goodwill it gives them. To be precise, the results of many marketing researches had concluded that the way which every element in the company looks should reflect its quality, and not only its products or services. Realizing that employees are one of such vital elements, employers are advised to uplift the outlook of their employees. For example, many organisations are now focusing on attractive uniforms for their workers, and are seen spending huge sums on this. This can be particularly seen in jobs which employees come into contact with customers directly.
However, I can hardly agree that this alone can make the company a successful one. It is to be understood that the potentials of the workers have to be taken into account more seriously. It is seen that many modern companies collapse just because they focused on these professional qualities rather than the efficiency of their workers. Once an employee is selected by an organisation, he needs to be trained on a regular basis, making him aware of the recent updates. Remuneration hikes and incentives are recommended for the better performers whereas problems such as stress and conflicts should be addressed effectively at appropriate time.
After analysing both views in detail, I have to admit that the appearance of an employee in an organisation is very important. At the same time, it is to be realized that work-efficiency of an employee is more crucial for a successful employer.
