People have diverse opinions regarding the learning of business. While some think a university education is the best, others feel there are other better ways in acquiring these skills. Both views are significant, and hence a detailed discussion is needed before framing a logical conclusion.

The supporters of formal business studies opine that when business is learned at universities, it becomes a systematic process. To explain it further, most business schools and colleges have a goal-oriented curriculum, targeted at specific areas of business such as marketing, advertising and finance. This enables a student to acquire almost all theoretical and practical knowledge regarding their respective majors, which would mould them to successful entrepreneurs or business executives. No other way is reliable for both the business students and the job-providers at present.

The first alternative to the aforementioned argument is believed to be learning business through close observation. To be precise, there are many who constantly changing the businesses and are mostly successful, foreseeing the trends in the market. Another option is to have a mentor in the field. Many new businesses are seen perishing within a short span of time in case of lack of expert guidance and support from an experienced person in the same field. There are also instances in which accidental business tycoons were born, who have never seen the corridors of a college.

After analysing both views in detail, though business learning seems to be systematic and effective when studied at a university, I think it should be most practical when other factors such as the aforementioned are combined to make it a wholesome study.
