Since the advent of globalization, there evolved a controversy, whether it would have positive impacts on a nation or it would dilute the country’s identity. I hitherto feel that it has made enormous benefits to the human race, despite some minor concerns.

On the one hand, those who have the latter view believe that those countries which have a rich history, culture and tradition would suffer severely when globalization gains strength.  Movies, advertisements and social media have a great role in this transformation. This influence is even seen in the languages they speak. It can be seen in most countries who embrace globalization, the influence of a global language is becoming stronger, paving the way for the extinction of many indigenous languages.

On the other hand, the proponents of globalization highlight the visible changes that the world had witnessed in the recent decades. To be clearer, when nations witnessed an increasing business and cultural contacts, the world has come under one roof, and the people across nations has made better relations. Both the manufacturing and consumer sectors saw an unparalleled growth in countries which nurtured globalization, whereas those nations who saw it with suspicion suffered severely during the global economic crisis. Similarly, conflicts among the nations have melted down as there were cultural exchanges, which would never have happened without globalization.

In my opinion, an increase in the trade and cultural exchanges is very essential in the modern world for its faster pace of development and improving the standards of living of people. At the same time, each country can preserve its own identity by means of governmental patronage in co-operation with the public at regular intervals.

To conclude, though there are some concerns regarding the identity loss of a nation, one can say that globalization has brought innumerable benefits to human race.
