As seen in the table, the ownership of most households showed an increase over the period. Of these, television and refrigerator were the most preferred. When television ownership in Britain grew from 93 to 98% , the same was from 73 to 94% for the other.The British’s preference to vacuum cleaner was also very similar, which ranged between 87 and 95% from 1972 to 1982 . An increase in the proportion of the Britons who owned a washing machine is also observed in the given period, which ranged from 66 to 80% . A significant increase is noted in the rate of telephone and central heating users in Britain over this eleven-year period (35 and 27% respectively).The preference to other households (video and dishwasher) was reported to be less significant.

Overall ,the household consumers of Britain preferred TV the most and dishwasher the least in the given period.
