Data of exclusively breast fed babies who were discharged with their mothers from Victoria Hospital in 2022 is depicted in the given chart.

Overall, despite wide fluctuations, there were more such babies in the second half of the year.

From January to June 2022, the highest proportion of premature babies who could solely depend on their mothers’ milk at the time of their discharge was recorded in the month of May. This was about 72%, which was much higher than the rate in January, February and in April (approximately 48%). In June this was nearly 32%, whereas the least was in March (2%).

In the second half of the year, July, August and November were the months which had the highest share of exclusively breast fed babies who were discharged from the hospital. While this rate was around 98%, in both October and December, the share of such babies was nominal, and that was just a per cent. However, in September, it was recorded at 48%, almost same as in January, February and April.
