A survey result on how families with dependent children were distributed in the UK in 2019 is depicted in the given charts.

Of the average of 42% of the households in the UK that cared dependent children, the highest share was in London and the lowest was in South West.

The Labour Force Survey for the Office for National Statistics categorised the geographical areas in the UK to four, based on the density of dependent children in their respective households. London was the only area in the first category with 51% of its households having depended children. There were four areas in the second category which were also above the average, and these were Northern Ireland, North West, South East and East of England in their respective positions from two to five. The share of families with children cared in these areas stood between 42 and 44.

The third category of areas included East Midlands, Wales, North East, West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber and the proportion of households which had dependent children ranged from 39 to 42%. Scotland and South West of England were positioned in the last category (36 and 35% respectively).
