The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugarcane.

The production of sugar from sugar cane in different stages is depicted in the given diagram.

Overall, the process starts from harvesting of fully-grown sugar canes till the production of sugar crystals in seven steps.

It is clear from the diagram that the process begins when approximately 12 to 18 months grown sugar canes are harvested either manually or mechanically. The harvested canes are transported to the factory, where the further processes are carried out.

At the factory, firstly, the canes are crushed in order to extract the  sugar cane juice. Next, with the help of a lime stone filter, the extracted juice is purified before transferring it into a large evaporator. Heat is applied from the bottom of the evaporator, until the content transforms into syrup form. In the subsequent and crucial step, the cane syrup is centrifuged at a high speed to separate the sugar crystals. In the final step, these sugar crystals are dried, cooled and stored.
